Upgrading from 32 bit Vista to 64 bit Vista
I inserted an OEM copy of Win 98. The install completed beautifully. Unfortunately, that upgrade method dies with XP. Vista Ultimate Upgrade will not accept the key shipped with it, if it is not installed over an existing installation. I can only assume that all of Vista's other upgrade versions will act the same

Anytime Upgrade unavailable?
I'm using oem on my computer too, word of caution, you won't be able to upgrade/change motherboard or harddisk after you activated the software, if you do, the software won't be able to activate after the upgrade. But somehow I manage to get my harddisk upgraded and still can be activated. hallamak, tu yang takut

Home users seemed slowish to upgrade. Even OEMs weren't busting their guts offering 2k... you had a choice of 9x or 2k around the time it came out. Same with XP... Most people approached it with caution, as XP didn't really offer much over 2000.Come Vista, and caution seems to be thrown into the wind? What's new?

As far as moving to Vista-64, do it with caution because of the lack of driver support and possibly application incompatibilities. Check before hand to make sure any hardware (especially I only have 2 gigs of memory and plan to upgrade to 4 gigs, but im not so sure it will make it feel much faster once I do.

Use caution id you do a lot of online business. There are a lot of threats out there. 4. WGA Software Piracy, depending on which school of thought you follow, you amy either apporve of it, or disapprove of it. Microsoft, now, does not tolerate it. Take that into account before even buying Vista.

Is Vista here to stay for the long haul or is it going to be more of a "blip" in the line of Windows OS like ME? I would just hate to go XP only to have to do a later upgrade to Vista (what a hassle). So, how are you all playing the game...jumping into the big Vista pool or playing it safe with XP?
